Thank you for your feedback on using multi-tenancy.

For the user homes you should be able to override the homeFolderManager bean to change the defaultProvider property to use a UIDBasedHomeFolderProvider that sets the templatePath. This can then copy a space that contains your User Guide. Refer to: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Security_and_Authentication#Creating_a_home_space_based_on_uid

You may also be able to create the "template" space (with your User Guide) automatically for each tenant by creating a small AMP module. Refer to "Using bootstrap" under: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Advanced_AMP_Development. Alternatively, you may be able to override the "spacesBootstrap" bean.
