topic MS Project XML Parsing in Alfresco Archive

Hi All,

I'm currently implementing and testing alfresco Community Edition for a small design agency with whom I work and would like to try and include display of project progress. We're testing OpenProj at the moment as it's completely cross platform and we have freelancers working on Windows, OSX and linux. It has the facility to output the MS Project XML file format.

I wondered if anyone else has created, or is working on some kind of parser to display this file format, or if anyone could point me in the right direction in developing something like this myself. Unfortunately my development background is PHP rather than java… and this is my first foray into alfresco in a serious way. Is this something that could be achieved with webscripts? at this stage I'm not too worried about generating GANTT charts, just displaying task / project progress.

Any thoughts or pointers would be gratefully received.

CHeers

Keith

Not sure if it'll handle the new MS Project XML format, but MPXJ (http://mpxj.sourceforge.net/) might be worth investigating. Thanks to Jeff Potts (http://ecmarchitect.com/) for pointing out this library.

Cheers,
Peter
