Hi all,I'm trying to get OpenOffice integration working against Alfresco 2.2 on RHEL 5, and I'm running into some issues. It just seems to work on our Gentoo setup, so I don't know whether it's something to do with the RedHat open office package, or something else.Firstly, having installed the headl

I'm still having issues with this. Some similar forum posts I've found have suggested checking directory permissions, but I've set everything I can to be world writable, and openoffice and Alfresco are both running as root. I've also disabled the firewall and SE to remove these as possible sources of problems.

Given that the Gentoo openoffice package just works, I've also tried installing the RPMs that Gentoo uses, but these give exactly the same error as the standard RH packages.

Thanks,
Sam.

Basically, the version of OpenOffice shipped with RHEL5 is broken. After discussions we Alfresco support, we tried to get some third party tools to talk to the OpenOffice server and these failed to work as well, so it's not an Alfresco problem.

The solution was to remove the RHEL supplied version of OpenOffice, and install the RPMs available on the OpenOffice site. These worked without a problem, and also worked correctly in headless mode (when the RHEL ones didn't).

Sam.
