Please don't re-post your problem it really doesn't help! The forum just gets full of re-posts and people don't want to help you.

I think if you look back at the other post you'll see some suggestions. I will post on there to help you out.

It Is a different problem now (I think).

Before is was a missing custom-hibernate-dialect.properties file.

Now, I know the file is there.

Do you really mean it? No one wants to help me?

I am not sure how to test Alfresco's connection to MySQL.
in my directory tomcat/common/lib I only have one mysql connector jar file.

mysql-connector-java-5.0.3-bin.jar

I read the other post that Rob sent the link for but I am more confused than before. That thread ends up talking about server crashing, not enough memory, CPU graphs etc.

My server is running fine. Tomcat is running fine too.

Is there a post that can guide me through testing my Alfresco connection to the MySQL database?

In August 2005 Steve (Alfresco Engineer) was helping someone
running Mandriva with a MySQL connection problem
(http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?t=55)

He posted some tests which helped me. It was just what I was asking for, some way to test the database connections.

I began looking at Alfresco in the beginning of April of this year. I first installed it April 28th.
It is now working July 6th.
Whew. Now we will see if it is worth it.
