This problem is probably due to a known bug.

In a few words, the problem is due to copied documents keeping a reference to the original document.
If the original document is not readable because of permissions, or not imported in your case, this exeption may be thrown.

I've met this issue in many contexts, and with many different Alfresco releases.
A JIRA issue is open : http://issues.alfresco.com/browse/AR-2000. Feel free to vote for a fix.

A workaround : remove the aspect "cm:copiedfrom" on the documents causing problems.

Do it solve your issue ?

Thanks dgenard,

You are right!! i removed the 'copiedfrom' aspect to one of the files, and now i can check it out again.

Now my problem is that I have around 60 GBs of files with this aspect , and i need to remove it from them.

I tried to use a rule on the folder to remove the aspect copiedfrom in the new files, but it didn't work.

I also searched in the webservices api, but i hadn't found out anything.

Do you know how can i remove this aspect without doing it one by one?

You may run a script like :


var docs = search.luceneSearch("ASPECT:cm\:copiedfrom");
for (var i=0; i<docs.length; i++)
{
     docs[i].removeAspect("cm:copiedfrom");
}
‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

It may take a while to complete however…

Hi David,

what kind of collateral effect have you observed ?
I understand that the modification date might have changed, or that rules might be triggered.
Have you experienced other side effets ?

The effect was really strange.

I tried to copy some files inside some of the non-copiedfrom folders using webdav, and I always got a windows message box telling me that it wasn't possible to copy them.

Other folders were working ok.

After some tests & errors, i discover that cutting/copying the folder and pasting it to other directory everything will start working again :mrgreen: .
I did so, and I didn't concern about the problem nevermore.
