The first thing I would check is if your AD credentials are valid and you have proper permissions set on AD. Also, check if you need to place the full DN on the admin username configuration.

You should have in mind that the user you're configuring SHOULD have full read permissions on the OU (or OUs) you're trying to import.

Also, use an external LDAP browser like the one from Softerra to check if you're able to login to AD with the user you're configuring in Alfresco.
