There's a "View in CIFS" link in the details page for each document, and I don't think it would be a huge amount of effort to modify the default link for a document in the space view to use that link instead of the URL for the download servlet.

That being said, this relies on the browser handling file:// links containing UNC paths properly, and not all browsers can do this by default (this is what the Alfresco Firefox plugin is for, for example).

hallo pmonks,
I have problem using the firefox extension. When I click CIFS link it says "Inable to find explorer, please chceck curent option".

I have set "c:\WINDOWS\explorer" under the add-on but no help. I have also tried to check "include file:///" box, but stil the same result.

c:\WINDOWS\explorer is the valid path to my explorer. Do you have any idea what Im doing wrong?

Win XP SP2
FF 2.0.0.11
