Configuring Alfresco with LDAP authentication

Hi, have try searching on using alfresco with LDAP authentication but there is too much information to digest.Can someone point me to a simple guide/how to, step by step guide on configuring alfresco with ldap authentication?Using Alfresco 2.1 Enterprise Trial on WinXP for testing now?Thanks!

Hi

Assuming you are using tomcat 5.5 and latest 2.1

Copy

ldap-authentication.properties
ldap-synchronisation.properties
ldap-authentication-context.xml.sample
ldap-synchronisation-context.xml.sample

to apache-tomcat-5.5.23\shared\classes\alfresco\config\extension

Rename the .sample files to .xml.
Set the appropriate values in the properties files for your LDAP server

You may well need some of the in depth information on the wiki to set these properties correctly for your particular circumstances.

Hi andy,
are there any modifications that we need to do ? like modifications to any service or authentication files ,to make sure the authentication reqest is passes throught LDAP !

We are using the latest 2.1 and don't seem to have any "ldap-synchronisation…" files in the directories, just the authentication ones…
Where can we get them from?
