Hi Paul,

I've tried to use the two tools (diff finder and attesoro), but they both lack of something : you can not identify keys whose message has changed since last version. You will only identify keys not present.

And this is important because they change often.

Do you have a solution ?

I personnaly use a simple diff between old and new en_US files to identify them.

And i've just checked the other language files included in v1.2.1:

- es_ES has some duplicates (http://forums.alfresco.com/viewtopic.php?p=6440#6440)
- de_DE and ja_JP don't have any duplicates

Hi,

Attesoro does not display \", but displays " instead. I've sent a bug report to attesoro's developper. Putting a backslash in sentences using a backslash transforms it in double backslash => backslash-escaped characters are not translatable.

So, we must manually modify all attesoro translated files with a text editor to build a correct language pack.

Does anyone know another tool working well in these case ?

Hi,
in our company we're currently using Babelfish as an alternative of Attesoro.
It has the same behaviour of Attesoro with ". But this is not a problem. After some tests with Alfresco, we have verified that the \ is not necessary when you want to show the character ". On the other hand, a backslash is needed when you want to show some special character like the backslash itself, the ampersand & or others with special encoding like Ã Ã¨ Ã© and so on.
For that, we supposed that the behaviour of Attesoro and Babelfish is not a bug, but the correct management of these kind of chars.
