I am trying to deploy Alfresco into a Liferay 4.3.3 + Tomcat 6.0 bundle. Did you check for Alfresco (sub-)category under 'CMS' ?
Maybe too obvious but at least the alfresco-content-portlet should show up without any problems.

Also, does it look like the alfresco.war file deployed correctly? Look in the Tomcat webapps subfolder and see if alfresco has been exploded in there.

I've found the LifeRay deployer can sometimes get confused over relative paths when trying to find the webapps subfolder.
