Alfresco worked, but now it don't

I've installed Alfresco/MySQL on a Windows2003 SBS server. Everything worked just fine after the installation, but when I checked back a few days later Alfresco would not start anymore.I've tried reÃƒÂ¯nstalling Alfresco and restarting with an empty database, but I cannot get it to run. One more thing: the db_remove script produces an error message. Could that be related to this problem?

MySQL Administrator shows that after running this script the catalog Alfresco still exists, but it contains no tables. The tables do get recreated when I start Alfresco again.
When I try to drop the schema from MySQL administrator I get the same error.

To delete the alfresco DB on mySQL thoroughly, you will need to login as root or an administrator account.

Try dropping the whole catalog in the MySQL Administrator and recreating it.

I could not drop the whole catalog in MySQL administrator for some reason, even under the root account. I switched over to SQL server and recreated the Alfresco db. Everything works fine now.

Hi all,

I'm just wondering, if I have the same error but I would like to keep my previous database, how can I revert to the old one?

What I did was, I change the repository configuration in custom-repository.properties from /home/alfresco/AlfrescoRepo/alf-data to /usr/alfresco/AlfrescoRepo/alf-data. I have also copied the whole repository from /home to /usr. When I start Alfresco again, there was an error. Now reconfigure back the repo to /home where it previously was. But I got this exception saying previous schema upgrade failed, I need to revert back.

Can you help me please… Thank you.

HI

See if there's a table called "alf_bootstrap_lock" in the Alfresco database.

If there is, drop it and try starting Alfresco again.

I had the same problem. Removing that table fixed it.
